Peter Zile and Lisa Hall appeared in court Monday following their arrests in Stockton, officials said. The pair face multiple felony charges after deputies tied them to a stolen truck, illegal narcotics and weapons.

San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Zile, 60, and Hall, 47, on Thursday. The arrests followed an inquiry into a stolen Ford F-350 truck. Deputies searched a home in the Weston Ranch neighborhood.

Deputies reported finding the stolen truck at the house. They seized more items during the search.

  • 16,000 fentanyl pills and other illegal drugs
  • $288,142 in cash
  • 14 firearms
  • Roughly 100 pounds of fireworks

“The amount of drugs, cash, and firearms uncovered during this investigation is alarming and highlights the serious threat these illegal activities pose to our community,” District Attorney Ron Freitas said in a Tuesday news release.

The two suspects face charges for vehicle theft and possession of controlled substances to sell. They face weapons charges, including possession or transportation of a machine gun. Bail was set at $1.25 million combined, according to the prosecutor’s office.

A bail amount serves as financial security to ensure that defendants return to court. Arraignments allow defendants to hear formal accusations before a judge. Cases then move to scheduled preliminary hearings.

Zile and Hall must return to court in Stockton on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.
