Luis Moran was arrested in Stockton on suspicion of homicide, police announced. The arrest follows the discovery of a missing person found dead in San Joaquin County.

A 74-year-old man was reported missing in late August, the Stockton Police Department said. He was last seen on August 24. Police later found his car near the 1500 block of S. San Joaquin Street.

On Friday, detectives served a search warrant at a nearby home. The body was found in an unincorporated area of San Joaquin County “through additional investigative efforts,” police said.

Moran, 28, was arrested for homicide. Police also arrested Francisco Renteria-Sanchez, 28, for accessory.

An accessory charge involves helping a suspect in a criminal case. Investigators follow standard procedures during death investigations.

The Stockton police investigation remains ongoing.
