Festival producer Danny Wimmer Presents announced Monday that GoldenSky and Aftershock will take place in Sacramento on consecutive weekends in 2027. The schedule brings the country festival back after a two-year hiatus alongside the annual rock event.

GoldenSky is scheduled as a two-day event on October 9-10 in 2027. It will take place at Discovery Park. Tickets will go on sale later this week.

The promoter shared the schedule in a news release. The official dates for Aftershock in 2027 have not been established. The rock festival took place during the first weekend of October in recent years.

GoldenSky began in 2022. It drew thousands of visitors during its first three years. Organizers postponed the gathering in 2025 and 2026. Organizers revealed its return in June.

The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors approved a 10-year agreement with the promoter in June. Danny Wimmer Presents has produced Aftershock since 2012. The contract lets the promoter hold up to three multi-day events at Discovery Park each year.

The agreement provides county revenue based on attendance figures. Sacramento County will also receive cost reimbursements and program funding. The deal includes $300,000 for park upgrades, including parking under Interstate 5.

County officials said the country event’s return belongs to a separate three-year commitment. Organizers confirmed the country festival will also take place in 2028 and 2029.

The lineup will be revealed Thursday, according to Danny Wimmer Presents. Presale passes will go on sale Friday.

Discovery Park is a public county recreation area located where the American and Sacramento rivers meet. Promoters often seek multi-year agreements to secure event permits and city services.

The announcement followed one week after the conclusion of the 2026 rock event in Sacramento.
