Spirit Christmas locations will expand to more than 40 seasonal stores across 15 US states this year, opening in vacated spaces starting in October.
Spirit Christmas plans to open more than 40 seasonal stores across 15 states this year, including a site in Manchester. The holiday brand will expand its retail footprint into commercial spaces vacated by other companies.
The brand launched 10 stores in 2024. That number tripled to 30 stores across 13 states last year. This year marks its third season.
Five stores will open in October, according to the Spirit Halloween website. Those locations include Winter Garden, Florida, and Youngstown, Ohio. Riverdale, Marlton, and Hamilton, New Jersey, will also open in October. Other sites currently house Spirit Halloween stores. They will flip to holiday shops in November.

The stores take over sites left by shuttered retailers. Seven shops will fill spaces previously run by Joann Fabrics. The craft goods business closed in 2025 following bankruptcy. Michaels later acquired its intellectual property and private label brands.
Stores will also occupy former locations of Bed Bath & Beyond, Party City, Big Lots, and Forever 21. Bed Bath & Beyond is making a post-bankruptcy comeback. Party City operates as an in-store experience with another firm.
Seasonal pop-up shops lease short-term retail space during peak sales periods. These operations set up displays inside empty storefronts. They sell seasonal gifts and home decorations to shoppers in communities like Dartmouth.
Christmas is less than 80 days away.
