Parampreet Singh of Davis sentenced to 10 years for drug trafficking
Parampreet Singh of Davis was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison and ordered to forfeit $2 million for running an international drug ring.
Parampreet Singh of Davis received a 10-year prison term for running an international drug ring. The federal court also ordered the 60-year-old man to forfeit $2 million.
Officials announced the ruling on Tuesday. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California prosecuted the case. Singh led a conspiracy to coordinate deals for cocaine, heroin, opium and ketamine in Canada.
Singh worked with two other area men. The co-defendants are 43-year-old Ranvir Singh of Sacramento and Amandeep Multani of Roseville. They coordinated illicit drug sales to undercover officers between October 2020 and April 2021.
The completed sales included 10 kilograms of cocaine, 1.5 kilograms of opium and 2 kilograms of ketamine. Undercover buyers also received multiple samples of heroin.
The drug sales generated $637,000 in Canadian currency and $75,190 in American currency. The transactions occurred in Canada and Sacramento. Officials stated the three men arranged their business through encrypted cellphone apps.
The men offered much larger amounts. Between September 2020 and April 2021, the group offered to sell:
- 200 kilograms of ketamine
- 100 kilograms of cocaine
- 100 kilograms of opium
- 25 kilograms of heroin
Parampreet Singh pleaded guilty to the charges on Sept. 9, 2025. Ranvir Singh was found guilty of multiple drug-related charges at trial. He faces a maximum penalty of life in prison and a $10 million fine.
Ranvir Singh is scheduled for sentencing on Dec. 1, 2026. Multani pleaded guilty on Dec. 13, 2022. Officials noted Multani “agreed to cooperate fully with the United States.”
Multani served approximately four years and eight months in custody. A judge sentenced him to time served on Dec. 10, 2025.
Federal district courts handle criminal prosecutions brought by the United States government. Drug trafficking cases often involve multi-agency investigations and asset forfeiture proceedings. Sentenced defendants serve their terms in federal correctional institutions.
The Davis defendant must report to federal prison to begin his decade-long sentence.
