Man shot and killed by Sacramento deputies previously arrested in June
Sacramento deputies shot and killed a 34-year-old armed man at a Marconi Avenue car wash after responding to reports of a suspect sleeping with a handgun.
A 34-year-old man died after a deputy shot him at a Sacramento car wash, authorities reported. Officials have not yet released his name. The shooting followed a caller report about an armed individual on the property.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said deputies went to the car wash at 4313 Marconi Avenue. A caller reported seeing an unknown man sleeping on the ground with a handgun “on his lap.”
The man was uncooperative, according to the sheriff’s office. At least one deputy fired at the man. He died from the gunfire.
The agency described the man as a 34-year-old Pacific Islander male. The county coroner’s office will release his identity under standard protocols.
The caller identified the man as the same person who fired at her and her husband on Oct. 3. Deputies recovered his loaded handgun from the scene.
The man faced a prior arrest in June 2026 at Marconi and Eastern Avenues. He was accused of pulling a handgun on a man and a woman in that incident.
Deputies arrested him for assault with a deadly weapon involving a firearm. Authorities retrieved a firearm from that scene as well.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office provides law enforcement services to unincorporated parts of the county. County coroner offices handle official identifications and notify next of kin. Deputy-involved shootings undergo formal administrative reviews.
The investigation remains ongoing.
